Topic:  Cyber Insurance for Cybersecurity Practioners

   Please join us to discuss what security leaders and practioners should know about cyber insurance. As a former cybersecurity practioner herself who now works in cyber insurance alongside underwriting and claims professionals, Brandy will share useful insights to consider. 

Presenter:  

Brandy Vargas is a Sr. Manager of Incident Response on the eRisk team for Crum and Forster. In this role she provides cybersecurity consulting to internal and external stakeholders during the underwriting and claims process and serves as a resource to C&F’s insured throughout their cyber insurance policy. Brandy came to Crum and Forster from Avalon Cyber, a managed security service provider where she was the director of cybersecurity operations managing digital forensics and incident response investigations, penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, managed detection and response, security compliance, and more. She also worked for Flowers Foods, a Fortune 500 company as a litigation support specialist championing the company’s legal initiatives as it related to class-action litigation, eDiscovery, digital forensics, internal investigations, and corporate compliance. Brandy is a graduate of Wake Forest Law where she obtained a Master of Studies in Law (MSL) with a focus in business law and corporate compliance; Valdosta State University where she graduated with cum laude honors with a bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership in law enforcement administration; and an associate degree in criminal justice from Southern Regional Technical College. She holds the following certifications: CISM, Security+, and ECIH.
